Axiom Co-Founder Alan Mendelson Presented
with Leadership Award

Alan Mendelson, Co-Founder and General
Partner of Axiom Venture Partners,
a venture capital firm with over $200
million under management, was the
recipient of the prestigious Connecticut
Venture Group Leadership Award. The
award was presented last night at
the Alliance for Connecticut Technology’s
Innovation Day and Award Dinner. The
Leadership Award is presented to a
venture capitalist who is playing
a leading role at his/her firm, has
played a significant role in advancing
the VC and entrepreneurial membership
of CVG, has been involved in the programming
and the ongoing management of CVG,
has developed a track record of investment
in regional companies, and has worked
to promote Connecticut as a leading
region of venture capital industry.
The event was held at the new Connecticut
Convention Center in Hartford.
This marks the second time an Axiom
co-founder and general partner has
won an award in this area. In November
2003, Samuel F. McKay, Co-founder
and General Partner of Axiom Venture
Partners, became a recipient of the
Connecticut Innovations, Inc. Special
Achievement Award, in recognition
of his lifetime accomplishments that
have led to long-term, technology-related
economic development in Connecticut.
The Alliance for Connecticut Technology
is comprised of several partners,
including Connecticut Innovations,
the Connecticut Technology Council,
The Connecticut Venture Group, and
CURE, Connecticut’s Bioscience
Cluster.
