Wireless Software Firm BlueKite.com Names New Pres & CEO

SAN FRANCISCO- BlueKite.com, a developer of software for the delivery of rich content to mobile computing devices, announced the appointment of Robin Abrams as president and CEO. Most recently, Ms. Abrams served as CEO at Ventro, a business e-commerce marketplace. Ms. Abrams replaces founding president and CEO, David Cox, who will remain with the company as an adviser to the executive team. Ms. Abrams also joins as the sixth member of the company's board, which includes Chris Gibbons of the Texas Pacific Group, Bill Hipp of 2M Invest, Craig Jorgens of the Texas Pacific Group, and Willa Seldon of Milepost Ventures. In August of 2000, BlueKite.com closed a $36 million Series C round of financing led by new investor Texas Pacific Group. New investors Credit Suisse First Boston and Robertson Stephens’ Bayview 2000 Fund, along with previous investors Axiom Venture Partners, JF Shea, Teknoinvest, and Viridian Capital, also participated. To date, the company has raised approximately $48 million in three rounds of funding.
